Prayer Gathering
"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst." Matthew 18:20
Feel free to e-mail any prayer requests to: prayerchicago@willowcreek.org.
When: The 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month from 6pm - 8pm.
Where: Willow Chicago Church Offices, 247 S. State Street, #1002 (on State between Jackson and Adams). Give your name to the door person and tell them you are there for the Willow Chicago Prayer Team meeting, and they will allow you access to the tenth floor.
Format: Bring a sack dinner, or you can purchase something from the wealth of shops in the immediate vicinity. Chipotle and Jimmy John's are right in the building on the first floor, and there are also McDonald's, Subway, Potbelly's, Quizno's and Sbarro's all nearby. First, we'll catch-up with one another and share prayer requests. We'll then pray for one another, for Willow Chicago, and those involved in various ministries.
Transportation: Being in the heart of the Loop, on-street parking is limited, but public transportation is quite convenient. The Jackson stop of the Red Line is less than a block from the Church Offices.
Vision
Pray for and intercede on behalf of Willow Chicago.
Being part of the Prayer Team at Willow Chicago is all about building — but not in an architectural sense. Though we often feel helpless in our own limited spiritual strength – unable to put together the pieces of the worldly puzzle that surrounds us - we ask the Master Builder to do the heavy lifting – to provide the muscle to "build up" our community, our church, our teams and ourselves.
We pray to build-up the community.
In one of our most memorable "out of the box" activities, we joined several other area churches in a Prayer Walk through the heart of the City, where we prayed in unity for the many needs of Chicago, the State of Illinois and our Nation. The Team also prays for individual needs sent in to us via e-mail from anyone who might have an urgent need.
We pray to build-up Willow Chicago.
During the large-group meetings held each 2nd & 4th Tuesday evening, we pray for the pastors, leadership, staff and serving teams of Willow Chicago. We also meet before the Sunday service to pray that God will touch every person who attends the service.
We pray to build-up the team.
Our goal is to pray for the needs of those who are a part of the Prayer Team on a daily basis. But we also love to spend time having fun together during Prayer Team social events, such as playing pool or enjoying a (mostly) friendly Iron Chef competition.
We pray to build-up ourselves.
As we open our hearts to God in our daily individual prayers, we pray that the He will build our individual character and draw us individually closer to Him!
